The Black Student Union will be holding its first meeting today right after school in room 1007. Come out to add your voice to this exciting new club. 

Grade 11 & 12 students who signed up to be retreat leaders for the Grade 9 mini retreats this semester: There is a mandatory training meeting tomorrow on Grade 11/12 lunch in the lecture hall. If you didn’t get a chance to sign up at Club Fest you are welcome to attend and sign up at the meeting. That’s tomorrow. 

The final meeting for the Walk for Haiti will be taking place this Wednesday in the chapel. Please be sure to join us on your lunch – This Wednesday! 

Attention Grade 11 and 12 Students – If you are interested in joining a Specialist High Skills Major program, SHSM, come to the Mandatory Registration Meeting on Wednesday in the Lecture Hall at Senior Lunch.

We will review your application and call you out of class to pair you with your very own Prefect for the semester. Applications are limited so don’t wait too long. There is a second try-out for the Junior girl’s flag football team today after school. We will meet in the gym at 3:00. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Hummel or Ms. Cassano.  

Ticket sales for this year’s homecoming dance will begin on Wednesday, September 30th on school cash online. The event will run from 6-9pm on Thursday, October 8th and the cost is $7. If you intend to bring a guest from another school, please pick up a guest permission form from the main office TODAY. Guest tickets will be sold starting Thursday at the back of the caf on all 3 lunches, but permission forms MUST be completed before purchase.  

Hey Lions, Halloween is just around the corner, which means it’s almost time for Assumption Scares Hunger. This year the big event is on Friday, October 30th from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Students will go around the community collecting non-perishable food items to help families in need, while earning 10 volunteer hours. Preparation meetings will take place during your lunch, in the lecture hall on October 5th, 14th ( yes, we know that’s the date of the stem conference, don’t worry) , and the 20th, so make sure to mark your calendars if you plan on participating! 

Students interested in joining the yoga club, please pick up a permission form from outside room 3014 or 1035. Yoga is a physical and spiritual practice that can help teach you strategies to calm your nervous system, and maintain mobility. It’s a great compliment to your sport specific training! If you signed up indicating your interest on club day, a blank form has been sent to your school email. Permission forms need to be signed by your parents and brought to your first practice. We will begin next Tuesday, October 6 at 3:10 in room 1035.  

The next senior girls flag football try out is tonight after school. Please meet in the small gym ready to play! 

THE WAIT IS OVER!!! Our Football teams are ready to take the field for their FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON this Thursday, October 1^st as our Lions take on the Mustangs. Juniors play at 2:00 and Seniors at 4:00. You know what that means?????? We’re having a “BUY-IN”!!!!!! Students can purchase a wristband for $5.00 on school cash. You can pick up your wristband during your lunch at the back of the caf with proof of purchase beginning Tuesday. Come out, bring the energy, and show your LION PRIDE!! Let’s pack the stands, make some noise and cheer on our teams to victory!!!!!!
