Hey Lions, did you know that October is Women’s History Month? Grade 11 Law thought it was sad that no-one was talking about it, and we wanted to get the conversation started!  We invite you to the front of the Caf to check out our display of remarkable women from across Canada and around the world. We invite other classes to help us grow our display too.  Work as a team to add your own nominees, or feel free to drop off individual posters to us in Room 3025.  Remembering the remarkable women who came before us will inspire a future where every voice is heard and every young woman knows her worth!   Let’s get talking this Women’s History Month!

ATTENTION ALL LIONS! This Tuesday is the FINAL meeting for Assumption Scares. It is shaping up to be an amazing event but, you need those flyers! Be sure that your group is in the lecture hall tomorrow. Meetings will be during all lunches and your team needs to be there to hear the final details and to receive your route, we will start 5 minutes after the bell – do not be late!

Are you interested in being a lawyer, a paralegal, a social worker, a child and youth worker, a social policy analyst, or even an non profit volunteer coordinator, or any other of the dozens of jobs in this area? Are you interested in a SHSM program? The Social Justice SHSM is an amazing opportunity to work in the community and network with organizations that you may one day work for or assist. As we all know, the SHSM paperwork for all SHSM programs is due on the 27th of October, but Ms. Torto has a mandatory trip set for the 26th of October….oh MAN! What can you do????, please get your paperwork signed and submitted ASAP and then check your email for an invite!

The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) will take place on November 4 and 5. Grade 10 Students will have an assigned day to write; it is based on your home room class. On the day that you are not writing the literacy test- it is an asynchronous from home day. Grade 9 students will attend Take your Kid to Work day on November 4 and be in classes on November 5th. A reminder that all Grades 11 and 12 will be working asynchronously from home on November 4 and 5.

Attention all ACS book clubbers. Today is our first meeting after school in the lecture hall. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Latino Club! Don’t forget to send your entries for the Soccer Commentators Contest to Mr Everitt ASAP for the change to win prizes!
