Good news, everyone! Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month at Assumption! All month long, watch for music, culture, activities, competitions, special events and plenty of surprises as we celebrate the Spanish-speaking world. And we’re kicking things off TODAY with Latino Club! Come join us after school for reggaetón dancing and music! No experience needed, just show up and have fun! Latino Club: in portable 24!  

This is a friendly reminder that the 2025-2026 Honour Roll Lists are posted in the windows outside of the Main Office.  They are alphabetical and sorted by your grade LAST YEAR.  Please have a look and report any issues to the Main Office before Friday, October 9^th.

Whether you’re an experienced debater or have never debated before, there’s a place for you. Learn how to build strong arguments, think on your feet, speak with confidence, and have fun while doing it! Come join us at room 1013 every Friday after school and put your voice to the test!” 

Grade 11 & 12 students who would like to be Retreat Leaders for the Grade 9 mini retreats please attend today’s training meeting in the chapel on senior lunchtime if you weren’t able to attend on Tuesday. This is the last opportunity to sign up for this leadership role. 

Attention Grade 11 students! Are you interested in signing up for Visual Art SHSM? Bring your completed enrollment form to Student Services as soon as possible and then see Ms. Benoit to get your permission form for the first SHSM workshop. Our first workshop will be a stained glass and mosaic workshop on October 16th. So get your SHSM enrollment form in ASAP so you don’t miss out! 

Any students who ordered spirit wear through Breakaway can pick up their orders at the student council office on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch. Please have your order number ready when picking up. Email Ms Ristov with any questions. 

Tickets for this year’s homecoming dance can now be purchased on school cash online for $7. The event will run from 6-9pm on Thursday, October 8th. Don’t miss out on this great event! 

Calling all writers! Enter the Kiwanis Club Youth Writers’ Contest for a chance to win cash prizes for your short fiction, with up to $750 available to students in Grades 4-12 from Brantford, Brant County, and Six Nations. Entries are due by midnight on October 26 and winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the Brantford Public Library on November 21. Entry details can be found in the library. 

 Attention Music students! Students interested in joining Concert Band are invited to attend a brief mandatory meeting after school today at 3:10pm in the Music Room, Room 1154 with Mrs. Cola. Sign-up information is posted outside of the Music room. Please sign up before the meeting.
